FAQ

Can you trap the raccoon and take it out of the city?

No. Ontario rules require a captured nuisance animal to be released within 1 km of where it was caught, within 24 hours. Moving it farther is not allowed and animals relocated far from home often die. One-way doors and sealing are the lasting fix.

Does the City of Ottawa remove animals from my house?

No. Wildlife on private property is the owner's responsibility. The City and Ottawa Public Health get involved when there is a possible rabies exposure or a sick animal in a public place.

When can bats be removed from my attic?

Not while pups are in the roost, roughly May to mid-August. Most Ontario contractors do exclusion from mid-August until late fall, before hibernation. Bats can't be killed, and the little brown bat is endangered in Ontario.

How long does a raccoon or squirrel removal take?

Inspection and setup take a few hours. Animals usually leave through the one-way door within a few days. We return to confirm the attic is empty, remove the door and seal the last opening.

How much does wildlife removal cost in Ottawa?

Indicative 2026 ranges: raccoon removal $400 to $1,000, squirrel exclusion $300 to $800, and bat exclusion $500 to $1,500 or more. Houses with many roof lines and chimneys cost more to seal. Attic clean-up is quoted separately after inspection.

Is there a warranty?

Sealing work is covered by a written warranty for the entry points that were sealed. The length and terms are on your quote. New entry points chewed elsewhere later are not the same repair, which is why the whole roof line is checked.
